The Windstrips themselves should be stapled with minimum 3/8" crown by 3/8" leg staples, no more than 9"apart, centered on the strip.

Stapling too high or too low, so both legs of the staple don't penetrate the strip, can allow the staples to pull through.

Not stapling often enough may allow the wind under the leading edge. Both may result in wind damage to your dry-in.
