The tarpaper must be stapled down thoroughly in the field in a zig-zag or "w" pattern with the tops and bottoms no more than 2 feet apart and at least 5 staples per vertical row. Not doing so can allow the wind to actually suck the tarpaper up in the middle and out from under the Windstrips.
